Missing in Action

First of all, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone who commented on yesterday’s post! I got so many fabulous recommendations for great mascaras – now I just have to pick which one I will try first! I really appreciate everyone who reads and gives their fashion/beauty advice!! I have another question for you toward the bottom…

But now for the real dilemma…I might have lost something; something very important, in fact. On our wedding day, Drew game me a charm bracelet from James Avery with one charm on it – it was going to be an anniversary bracelet so every year, we would add another charm. (If you are not from one of the southern states you might not have heard of James Avery, but you really should check them out!)

Anyway, I thought this was so incredibly sweet of him and now I have gone and lost it – am I a jerk, or what?? I have looked everywhere…in my purses, in the apartment, in the car, EVERYWHERE! Not to play the blame game, but I have a specific cat in mind that has been caught several times digging in my jewelry drawer – I don’t know how she does it. I really think she might have gotten it out to play with and then she forgot to return it. No manners!

I told Drew that it *might* be missing and he seemed OK with it. Maybe we can replace the bracelet and the first charm if I promise to be extra careful with it this time around!

(I also happen to LOVE this ring)

Well, now that I got a good start on mascaras, what do you ladies recommend for foundation?? Do you wear it? Do you like it? I never wear it because I don’t like the feeling of having a bunch of stuff on my face. Luckily, I have pretty good skin these days (NOT the case a few years ago – I credit Proactive as ridiculous as that is) so I don’t feel like I need a lot of coverage – I just want something to even things out. What do you think??

100% hands down I say go with Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals. You can get it through Sephora or order it online. It isn't as cheap as drug store stuff but totally worth it. I'm like you and hate all the liquid crap on my face. This stuff is light and no one even knows it's on. I also love the warmth (bronzer). It last a really long time too bc you don't need much.

I LOVE Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer -- it has the perfect amount of coverage and spf! It also comes in an oil-free option.

Okay first of all I LOVE that ring! I'm kind of sad that I've never heard of James Avery (stupid, boring California jewelry!).

As for foundation, I like to use Maybelline Pure.Makeup foundation (http://www.maybelline.com/images/products/thumbNails/605PMU_xl.jpg). It's 50% water, so it doesn't feel heavy or cakey at all, and since you don't need a lot of coverup (yay for Proactive - it helped me too!), it's great to just even things out. Then I usually use a little bronzer for some added vibrancy. But even on its own, it's great! :-)

Disclaimer: I'm totally NOT a makeup expert. Half the time, I leave the house forgetting/not caring enough to put anything on but a splash of mascara.

First... don't feel bad. I lost the diamond earrings AND diamond necklace hubs gave me on your wedding day. I felt like such a jerk. I never expected to get another diamond, ever! But he got me new earrings this Christmas.

Second, Bare Escentuals is the very best foundation I have ever used! I recommend it highly!

# 1: I really wish that my skin was looking good these days! Mine is the exact opposite. My skin has been a nightmare ever since we moved to H-town 3 years ago. The humidity (and probably the stress of my job/commuting) has wreaked havoc on my skin. :( :(

# 2: I wear a medium - heavy coverage powder. Estee Lauder Double Wear in Tawny to be exact. I tend to have oily skin and this seems to minimize that. Like you, real foundation just feels to thick on my face. However, if my skin doesn't get any better soon, I may resort to that.

I'm excited to see what others say.....I'm a product junkie and am always searching (and wasting money) on finding the *perfect* whatever i have my mind set on that week!

MAC MAC MAC! I love their studiofix powder because it has great coverage and shine control. I also like their new line of mineral makeups. After "doing" makeup I hate Bare Minerals. yuck, yuck.

Your skin is flawless. You can just use a bronzer and some mascara. P.S. can i have your face? haha ;]

That's a pretty ring! Sorry you lost your bracelet, I hope you find it soon!

I don't normally wear foundation either, for the same reason as you. When I want a more "polished" look I usually spot-treat w/concealer (I have bags like nobody's business) and just use powder. It's lighter than foundation but still evens things out. I think I use Sephora, though I'm slowly converting everything over to M.A.C...

I wear Clinique foundation and have worn it for years. I often get off the Clinique wagon and my face breaks out somethin' awful. I've learned not to do that, and today I'm going to the mall for some Clinique foundation! Yay, shopping! :)

All I use on my face is a mineral powder from MAC because I don't like a lot of stuff on my face. I do put a little MAC concealer under my eyes also. Just go to the MAC counter and tell them what you are looking for and that you don't know what will look good on you and they put it on you for free and help you decide.

GET BareMinerals from Bare Escentuals! It's amazing. I used to have a lot of acne scars and it covered them all up! It never gets cakey or unnatural looking. It's a little pricey but lasts forever. My boyfriend bought it for me 2 years ago for Christmas and have only needed one refill!

Ok first things first, I'm sorry you lost your bracelet, it was gorgeous. I love that ring. And lastly, I use maybelline Mineral powder. It blends everything in and gives you a natural look with a soft glow and its not very thick. I love it and I dont wear much makeup.

my foundation is a mineral liquid from MAC, but i hardly ever use that these days cause we are here in the most humid city in america and therefore it melts off. grosse. i use mineralize powder from MAC as my foundation right now. I am always happy with whatever they sell me! (that butterfly ring looks familiar. do you have it? does my mom have it? i must find out. it is linked to a memory! :) )
