Stay Safe!

I am so sad about the world sometimes…especially today. I live in a beautiful part of Houston, Texas that until recently had as close to zero crime as is possible. I know it is so clichĂ© to say, but it is becoming so true – crime is rising because of the economy. My area of town is experiencing some crazy stuff and I hate to see it happening. Banks are being robbed, people (especially young ladies) are being abducted in the middle of the DAY from popular shopping centers and it makes my heart ache to hear these news stories. I hate to think of it this way but sometimes you just have to be honest with yourself – the world we live in now is NOT LIKE it was even when we were kids, a mere decade ago. It makes me mad that you can’t even feel completely safe in your home town anymore. I have lived in this area my entire life and have always felt safe until recently.

But what can you do?? I WILL NOT live in fear everyday and instead will really try to focus on putting my trust in God – it is all you can do. I have been looking into getting a security system which is something I have never considered before. What I WILL do is be happy and be thankful for every day I have on this Earth! We are all so blessed…

Ladies, stay safe and stay happy!

XOXO

It really is so sad. I think about the things I was able to do as a kid that can't be done now because of safety. I cannot imagine what it will be like in just another 10 years or so. Makes me sad!

It's all very sad, but you definitely have the right attitude. I feel the same as you and try to keep the faith and be alert at all times.

I totally feel you! New Orleans is the number one crime city in the NATION! It stinks always having to look around and make sure you are safe just walking the dogs.

Hopefully things pick up soon!

OMG! Ash, I know! It's so sad :( My parents went out of town a month ago and around that time people were being robbed in my neighborhood. As in, robbers going into homes while the moms went for a morning jog and the HUSBAND AND KIDS WERE STILL INSIDE!!!! Needless to say I was terrified while they were away. I was paranoid but I was def on the look out and still am! Don't worry just use our dance team kicks and kick em where it hurts!

How sad but true. All we can do is trust God and know that He will keep us safe. Stay safe!
